Thanksgiving Day

Each year we have so much to be thankful for, but this year turned out to be extra special as we now get to be thankful for a new family member.  After a fabulous feast at Doncie and Poppy’s, Kinnett and Chad announced their engagement.  Chad is a true blessing to our family and we are thrilled for him and Kinnett to begin their life together.  

Things I’m Thankful For

I am thankful for the happy couple.I am thankful for three-year-olds that put on dance shows. I am thankful for ringlets.   I am thankful to have little girls to dress in ribbons and bows. I didn’t get a picture of the table, but I am thankful for Poppy’s mashed potatoes and Doncie’s gravy. I am thankful for granddaughters and grandfathers. I am thankful for Daddies that adore their daughters.  I am thankful for beautiful Charleston days.  I am thankful for God’s natural wonders.I am thankful that Aunt Nette didn’t fall all the way in the water, and somewhat thankful that she held onto the camera.  (I may have been more thankful, however, if it had fallen in the water – then I would be forced to get that new camera).  I am mostly thankful that Aunt Nette was okay. I am thankful for pouty faces, and as I told Lily,” yes, I am thankful for you even when you misbehave.”  I am thankful for my Bean. I am thankful for the following conversation:  Lily to Mimi after I had told Mimi that Kinnett and Chad were getting married:  “Mimi, when Aunt Nette and Chad get married, we get to dress up like flowers and drop petals.”I am thankful to finally get to legitimately wear a sweater this fall.  I am thankful that Sarah Ellen loves her “mamma”  bigger than life, and no I am not talking about me.  She calls her daddy “mamma.”  She gives me dirty looks and a fierce “NO” when I try to take her from her “mamma.”I am thankful that buggy hung in there today even with a yucky fever. I am thankful for little girls that love to play dress up.  I am very thankful for sleeping children.I am thankful that Sarah Ellen did not break a tooth when she fell and busted her lip this morning.

I am thankful for all the blessings in my life.

Thanksgiving Program

Tuesday Lily had her Thanksgiving program and feast at school.  She and her classmates dressed up and sang two songs and then feasted on turkey and pumpkin pie. 

Lily’s placemat.The little Indians filing in.      She just might be the cutest blond haired, blue eyed Native American I’ve ever seen.  (Sorry Cameron, it was just too good of a line not to steal). This was my attempt at getting the three musketeers together, but alas the camera is just too slow.

Happy Thanksgiving

I have so much to be thankful for, yet again, this year.  We spent a wonderful day with family, and I will soon post photos and give details of our day.  I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Thank you, Lord, for my unending blessings:  two wonderful children, a loving husband, caring family and friends that are like family. 

The Berlands Come to Town

We were blessed this past weekend to have the Berlands come for a visit – all three of them.  They missed last years annual visit because sweet little Elliot made his debut.  So this year we were able meet Mr.  Elliot.  We had a blast which is obvious by the amount of pictures I have to post.  Karen and Paul also have a Cannon Rebel and we got so many awesome pictures. 

We had a great weekend – a lot of eating, laughing and playing.  A great time with great friends. 

Elliot immediately bonded with Miller and gave him many a sweet kiss.  

Time to cook.

Saturday we headed to the aquarium:“She wants me to do what?””Do they know that is a snake?”

Sarah Ellen finally warmed up and touched the snake, even pinching his tail.Even Lily got brave and gave a quick pet.  Elliot enjoyed the boat.
