Happy Halloween

I have always loved our neighborhood, but Halloween makes me appreciate it even more.  We have a cookout each year down at the neighborhood park, then a hayride, and then loads of trick or treating fun.  Several houses along the way even have treats waiting for the adults.

DSC_0152DSC_0156 DSC_0157 DSC_0161Lily and Thomas didn’t need any time to figure things out.  They were off. DSC_0162DSC_0166 DSC_0172 Lily with Mrs. Barbara.  Barbara is our music director at church.  She and Lily have always had a special little bond.  Lily looks just like Mrs. Barbara’s baby girl did at her age.  Her baby girl is now a freshmen in college.DSC_0176Checking out the loot. DSC_0178DSC_0182I’m not sure if Lily, Ryan, and Cohen had more fun getting candy or passing out candy.  They would run down to the trick-or-treaters giving them candy before they even had a chance to get up the steps.  DSC_0190Our candy started to get low so I told Lily we were almost done.  She ran inside and grabbed her candy bucket and started filling the candy for the trick-or-treaters.  I love her generous spirit. I loved Halloween as a kid, but love it even more seeing it through the eyes of my children.

Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins

The girls had fun digging out some pumpkin goo, as long as they had utensils that is.  DSC_0002-3DSC_0004-3 DSC_0005-3 DSC_0007-3   I got a seed Daddy.  DSC_0016DSC_0019-2Anybody in there… DSC_0020-2 DSC_0021-1Then their friends arrived and the pumpkins were left to the adults.   Cameron free handed designs on each of our pumpkins and we began carving.DSC_0030-2 DSC_0034DSC_0037-1DSC_0042DSC_0044-1DSC_0046-1 DSC_0047 DSC_0048 DSC_0049DSC_0051-1DSC_0056-1 DSC_0057-1 Mr. Chris promised not to sue us after falling through our deck.  Yikes.   DSC_0058   DSC_0063-1 Check out these cuties.DSC_0064-2DSC_0097 Time to show off our handy work.  DSC_0107-1  Mr. Jason recued Sarah Ellen after she decided the pumpkins were too “loud.”DSC_0112But OH NO, his shirt is so much scarier!!!!DSC_0110-2DSC_0113DSC_0117DSC_0123
