Pool Time

This was the summer for swimming.  Lily became a fish – swimming very well and even jumping off the diving board!  Sarah Ellen, well she is making progress.  She much prefers playing on the steps with her Barbies.

Bean and Bug Babyknits, LLC

That’s right – LLC.  I am officially a business now.  This little venture has been so much fun for me.  I love creating new things, searching for great yarns, browsing patterns, and of course knitting.   Once we are settled in the house, I hope to broaden my business by participating in more shows and consigning.  For now, I will keep on knitting!

Buggy Turns Four

photo2

Where did my toddler go?  How are you possibly four years old?

Little Buggy, you bring us so much joy every day.  Your facial expressions continue to amuse us.  You can say so much with only one look.

So what are you up to these days?  Lots of trouble!  It seems we can’t trust you by yourself anymore with markers, shampoo bottles or soap.  You just can’t help yourself.

You constantly want to explore things on the ground: rocks, dirt, trash.  It doesn’t matter what it is, you just have to touch it.  We will tell you not to and can see that it takes everything in you to obey.  Your little hands just want to break free and touch whatever you can.

You continue to love rice, pasta and milk.  Now that you are four, we are getting rid of the milky sippy cups.  You haven’t been too thrilled with this idea, but are adjusting.

You adore your big sister and spend every second you can with her.

You are a little snuggle bug.  I love that you will fall asleep while rocking. I love that you want to be held in the mornings.  You wake up a lot like your mamma – slowly.

You don’t know a stranger.  You will talk to anyone you meet.  You are very comfortable with others.

You scream bloody murder at the smallest of bugs.  I never know if I will find an ant or a huge palmetto bug.  You don’t like any of them.

You are a great sleeper.  Once you have verified that there are no bears in your room, you pass out for the night.

You are a true light in our life!

Vacation at Folly

With my lack of blogging lately, I believe I have gotten slack in picture taking as well.  We spent an entire week at the beach with Doncie, Poppy, Aunt Nette and Uncle Chad on vacation at Folly Beach and I didn’t take a single picture.  ARGH!

We had a great week of relaxing, playing and laughing.  You will just have to trust me.

Happy Birthday Buggy

We celebrated Sarah Ellen’s fourth birthday at the beach with friends and family.   She had been talking about her birthday party for months and couldn’t wait to turn four.

Lily and Lily

One of James’ good friends from the Citadel, Tripp, and his family came down to camp at the James Island County Park for the week.  James and the girls joined them for a night.  I was so sad happy that our tent only sleeps three and  I had to go back home to sleep enjoy the peace and quiet.
Their 6 year old daughter also happens to be named Lily.  We heard that they were naming their child Lily and loved the name.  I tried to get it out of my mind – we didn’t want to steal their name after all.  As much as I tried, though, I just loved the name, so yes we stole their name.
I didn’t consider at the time, how wonderful and exciting this would be for our children.  This was the first time for the girls to meet but you never would have known it.  Just like their daddies, they were instant friends.
Our Lily couldn’t control her excitement.  “Mamma, we have so many things that are the same.  We are both named Lily.  We have the same pillow pet.  We both have blue eyes.  We eat the same ice cream.”  And on and on she went.

We are thankful that the Porters asked us to join them camping and can’t wait for more visits.  The Lily’s are already planning!
