First Day of School
Our summer flew by this year. Before we knew it, we were heading back to school. Some of us were a little more excited than others. Sarah Ellen couldn't wait to start her kindergarten adventure. Lily, was a little anxious about a new classroom, but excited to see some of her old friends. I was wondering what in the world was I going to do with SEVEN hours a day. As much as I have longed for down time in the past, on this day, I was not ready for it.
As we got closer to the school, Sarah Ellen was still bouncing and excited. Lily, on the other hand, was getting more and more nervous. Her "worry puff" was getting lots of squeezes this morning.
Sarah Ellen knew right where to go and didn't hesitate to walk on in.
We were thrilled to get Mrs. Muckenfuss as her teacher. We know Mrs. Muckenfuss well from church.
Sarah Ellen is ready to start her day. This ended the picture taking for the day as Lily needed all our attention to make it to her class. By the time we got to her classroom she was very upset. We had to leave her crying. This made for a VERY long day for mama. The good news is she came bouncing out that afternoon as if the morning had never happened. She had a great first day. I am sure it helped that once again, she in class with her BFF, Margaret Anne. Its a good thing too, because, she informed me this summer that if she wasn't in class with MA, I was going to have to homeschool her. YIKES!
I am not sure who was more excited to see Sarah Ellen, me or Olivia. These BFFs missed each other!
As hard as it is to send my girls off, I am thrilled with this coming year. I love both girls' teachers and I love their little school. So many folks from church are involved in this school and I feel like the girls are well looked after.

Go Sarah Ellen Go!
Sarah Ellen, how could you do this to your mama?! Did you really learn to ride your back the same week you started kindergarten? This is just too much for your mother to bear.
One afternoon, you looked up at Daddy and said you wanted to try without training wheels. That was all it took. One big pedal and you were off!
