Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

No one loves the chance of a good snow storm more than me.  I just couldn't get excited though when they started it predicting it for us in Charleston.  Why?  My husband was out of town is why!  I love snow, but do I want to be stranded without power and two small children by myself?  NO!  But that, my friends, is what happened.  I was determined to stay at our house and ride it out.  That was until I heard our heater outside making a very crazy and loud noise.  Allan came over to check it out and it was frozen over.  So the girls and I pack up and head over to the Clums for a sleepover.  The girls were only slightly thrilled by this!
Jason and Allan escorted me back home to see if we could get the heat working.
We didn't get the heat going but the girls and I huddled up together and stayed cozy.  We put a space heater in my bedroom and all slept together under the electric blanket.

We survived the snow storm of 2014 and I learned one very important thing.  I am no pioneer woman!

James did finally make it home but only to crawl right in bed with the flu - aye, aye, aye!

Playdates

When we invited friends over to play one afternoon, James thought it would be fun to bake cookies.  James quickly learned that baking is not too much fun with lots of children.  "I want to stir." "No Fair." "My turn." "Can I eat some."  The end result, however, was delicious.

Coloring Fun

We enjoyed an afternoon of breaking in the girls' new markers and pens.  It was just exhausting for Sylvester and Daisy!

New Years Day 2014

The Clums hosted everyone for a traditional New Year's lunch.  I made sure to get my collards and black eye peas in between baby snuggles.
