3K Thanksgiving Program

Sarah Ellen’s sweet class performed for the parents before they enjoyed a feast together.  Sarah Ellen came out on stage blowing kisses.  I believe I have another little girl that likes the stage!

Kindergarten Thanksgiving Program

Oh how I love these seven little turkeys.  Lily is blessed this year with a fabulous kindergarten class.  Her classmates are sweet and her teacher is fabulous.  I wish we could keep them together all the way to college.  I know, this perfect little bubble must be busted before long, but boy am I loving it while we are in it. 

My First Gig

This fall I was able to participate in The Lowcountry Artist Market.  This was my first time selling my knitting other than on Etsy.  I had a lot of fun and for the first time since I opened Bean and Bug Babyknits in February, I made a PROFIT.  This little business is certainly more of a hobby than a lucrative industry.  But I am truly loving it.  I have made baby items for Christenings, newborns coming home from the hospital, first grand children and many more special occasions.  I love brainstorming with others to come up with the perfect gift for the little loved ones in their life.  I love trying new patterns and shopping for yarns. 

Hopefully, I will be participating in more markets in the future.

Snookie

This Veterans Day we lost a very special veteran in our family.  Snookie, James’ grandfather, passed away.  Snooks was a gentle, loving, giving man that always had a smile on his face.  He loved his great-grandchildren; he loved to eat, he loved Krispy Kreme donuts; he loved IHOP,  and he loved Fox news. 

We love you Snookie and we will miss you.

Reuben Ernest "Rudy" Weatherholtz, of Charleston, SC, formerly of Annandale, VA. passed away on November 11, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Kathern Ebhardt Weatherholtz. Loving father of Ruben Earnest "Ernie" Weatherholtz, III and his wife Donna. Cherished grandfather of Kathern Kinnett Weatherholtz and her husband Chad Michael Kibler and James Earnest Weatherholtz and his wife Taryn Cothran Weatherholtz. Great grandfather of Lily Elizabeth and Sarah Ellen Weatherholtz. Dear brother of Patricia Buckley. Mr. Weatherholtz was predeceased by his siblings Bernie Weatherholtz, Nellie Fairfax, Margaret Meyers, Vivian Dubriel and Douglas Weatherholtz. Rudy was a Safeway Store Manager for over 40 years. He was a dedicated member of the Fairfax Host Lions Club, a lifelong member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Falls Church, VA, and a WWII Navy Veteran. The family will receive friends at the EVERLY FUNERAL HOME, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030 on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 2 to 5 p.m. where a Lions Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Service, Monday, November 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 7426 Idylwood Road, Falls Church, VA 22043. Interment will follow at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Fairfax Host Lions Club, P.O. Box 98, Fairfax, VA 22038.

Parent/Teacher Conference

How can Lily possibly be old enough to have a parent/teacher conference?  I couldn’t wait to meet with her teacher to hear all that she is learning.  Her teacher says that Science is one of her favorite subjects.  She loves to read.  Her teacher says that she thinks Lily will be a great creative writer.  She can tell this by Lily’s descriptive artwork. 

I was a bit shocked to learn that Lily is shy in school.  I have never thought of Lily as shy.  Her teacher says that she has to really encourage Lily to speak out.  She always knows the answer to questions, but will only answer if she is called on. 

I am so excited for Lily and her kindergarten experience.  She is with seven wonderful children and a fabulous, motivated teacher.   She loves going to school every day and I love knowing each day she is educated in a loving, Christian environment. 

Lobster Anyone!

A local preschool sold lobsters as a fundraiser and Trey and James just couldn’t resist.  We enjoyed good food with good friends – there is just nothing better!        It didn’t take long for the children to realize that our table was more fun!    Trey gives Molly a tutorial on lobster eating.    Lily quickly learned that she LOVES lobster.  She was cracking them, picking them and eating as much as she could.

Happy Halloween!

For Halloween we ventured back to our old (and one day new) neighborhood.  I must say it was rather odd to go trick-or-treating at what used to be your house. 

We were blessed this Halloween with a nice cool night – it actually felt like fall.  The children had a blast.

   Have you ever seen any cuter insects??  Three little lightening bugs and two little strawberry fairies.

  My poor children carrying Ziploc bags.  Our buckets were in storage and all they cared about was if it held candy or not.
