Birthday Bash

Our family has a lot of fall birthdays, so we gathered together this weekend to celebrate Kinnett, Paige, and Riley's birthdays.  James cooked some yummy Beaufort Stew and smoked salmon and we just hung and enjoyed each others company.  Lily and Riley had a blast playing together.  Those $2.50 water bottles were a brilliant purchase.

Riley had an awesome birthday party at My Gym in Summerville.  I think the adults had more fun than the kids.   

  

Pictures

Last Friday, we took the girls to get some professional pictures made.  My intentions were to get some good shots of Sarah Ellen and to also get some pictures of her in her baptism gown.  I am determined to try to have as many pictures of SE as I do of Lily.  I'm beginning to realize, though, that maybe we have so many pictures of Lily because she loves to perform in front of the camera.  Even at three months, she was a big smiler and loved a camera.

 

 

Mommy and Me

Thursday's Mommy and Me was supposed to be at a park on Folly, but Mother Nature didn't cooperate, so I volunteered to host.  My house is now officially boy proof.  If any boys could test a home for it's structural soundness, it would be Matthew, Austin, Tyler, Christian, and Caleb.  We passed!  We all had to laugh at the things that I never considered hazards for children.  Such as, the fact that the playhouse outside was too close to the banister - Lily has never attempted to climb through a window onto the top.  I snapped some pictures but didn't catch any of the boys - they were too fast.

How come Lily will cuddle with Kekine, but not her mamma!?

Snack time.  We prepared nine cups of chex mix for the kids.  The boys lasted about 10 seconds sitting at the table and were off again.  Abigail, Margaret Anne, and Lily didn't mind.  They split the remaining snacks among themselves.

Lily's second hair cut

On Thursday, Lily got her second hair cut.  She is two and half years old and has only had two hair cuts.  Her first hair cut was in late May.  As she was waiting, she said, "do I get to wear the cape with animals on it."  Her mind never ceases to amaze me.  She remembered that cape from four months ago.

 

Beautiful Fall Evenings

This week we took advantage of the beautiful weather and strolled around the neighborhood after dinner.  Fall is definitely my favorite time of year and I was invigorated this week with the cooler weather.  I turned off the AC and threw up the windows.  The house is full of love bugs, but it has been well worth it for the wonderful breezes blowing through.  One night after our walk, we sat on the front porch and treated Lily to a popsicle.  Life doesn't get any better than this. 

Wow, I actually took a picture of Miller, our first baby.  Our photo albums used to consist of nothing but Miller.  Poor guy doesn't get as many photo ops these days. 

A Perfect Lunch

Last Friday, we couldn't wait to take advantage of the cooler weather and join Daddy for lunch at Waterfront park.  We picked up "Chicken-lay" and met Daddy at his work.  We are so blessed that James' office is right on the harbor and a spectacular park. 

How many people get to join their husbands for lunch and watch the dolphins play in the water?  I wasn't able to snap a good picture, but a school of dolphins played right in front of us for about ten minutes.

We took a stroll down to the pineapple fountain, but it turned into a form of torture for Lily.  How can a toddler just look at a fountain without getting in?  What could we possibly have been thinking?

Sarah Ellen also enjoyed the cool breezes.  Nothing Like fall weather to put everyone in a good mood.

  

This is something we love to do in the fall and spring when the weather allows.  We can enjoy a good meal, beautiful views, and special family time.
