Borrowed Post

Okay, so I have to borrow a post from a friend because it is too cute and sweet not to share.

Playdate turns lunchdate

Motherhood has brought so many blessing to my life, but one that I never expected was the bond I would share with other mothers. I am so thankful to have such great women to share my child rearing experiences with (good and bad). Thank you to all of the amazing mothers in my life. I learn something from each of you, and, as a result, I have grown as a parent and a person.

After posting I realized I had taken some photos as well.

Happy birthday Ernie and James finally

Tonight we finally celebrated James' and Ernie's birthdays (from mid February). It took us that long to pick a night where everyone was free, but we didn't give up on it. We met at Rue de Jean and had a great time together. Lily was wonderful during the 2 hour dinner and even gave out some rare cuddles. I have to share what she ate because I'm always amazed at what this child can put away: half a hamburger, 7 strawberries, 1/2 cup of blueberries, french fries, bread and some of my soup. Her belly is about as big as mine now.

Three generations of Weatherholtz men.

When we got home, Lily started hamming it up so I tried to catch some of it on video. She sang her ABC's the whole way through. I first heard her do it earlier this week on the monitor. Of course, she wouldn't do it for the camera, but the mistakes are cuter. Sorry if I'm getting a little carried away with the videos, but my family in Chapin doesn't get to see Lily as much, so I'm hoping they can enjoy these videos.

Snow Angels in March

Caroline and the girls came over to spend the morning and join Lily and I for lunch. After lunch, Caroline and I were cleaning the kitchen and enjoying a little bit of quiet while the girls were upstairs playing (or so we thought). The quiet should have clued us in. I walked into my bathroom to discover that Abigail and Margaret Anne had emptied a large box of packing peanuts and were very enthusiastically making snow angels. Who would have thought: snow angels in my bathroom in the middle of March!

Eating Easter Eggs

Lily decided she didn't want to hunt eggs anymore, she wanted to eat them. Sorry if this is a little gross, but I thought it was too cute not to share.

Happy Easter

This has a wonderful Easter weekend. We started it out yesterday with yet another Easter egg hunt. A friend from James' work invited us to an Easter egg hunt and brunch at their home. We had a great time, and Lily honed her hunting skills even more. These eggs were actually hidden, and you had to be fast before the bigger kids found all the eggs. I discovered a nifty little trick, though. When Lily wasn't looking, I grabbed an egg from her basket, tossed it on the ground, and said, "look, Lily, another egg." We were able to hunt for quite a long time. Unfortunately, my camera battery died on the first shot, so I don't have any pictures from this event.

Easter morning was a lot of fun for us (the parents) this year. When we got Lily out of her crib this morning and asked her who came last night, she said, "Bunny Rabbit," then clarified with "Easter Rabbit." We headed downstairs to see what the "Easter Rabbit" brought.

Lots of new "prises"

"Do you like my new apron?"
Time to find MORE eggs.
Lily's so good at hunting eggs now, she can do it with her eyes closed.
Too easy
So much for finding them, let's eat them.

We have a pretty funny video of her eating this egg, that I will try to post later. Blogger isn't cooperating at the moment.
Lily loves to water the plants with her daddy, so the Easter Bunny brought her her own watering can.

The lighting isn't the best, but notice two feet clearing the floor. I think Lily can officially jump.

Happy Easter Margaret Anne

Enjoying breakfast at church with the Clums, Cranes, and Reindollars. The Reindollars (with children in middle and high school) were brave to join our table full of toddlers.

Our attempt at a family picture.

Mommy and Lily
After church, we joined James' family for lunch, then headed home for a relaxing afternoon together. God has richly blessed our lives, and for this I am truly thankul. May God bless each of you as well.
Happy Easter
Love, James, Taryn, Lily, and Baby Sister.

School Easter Egg Hunt

Lily is becoming quite the Easter egg hunter. Yesterday she had another hunt at her school, and this girl gets down to business. She came out the door very excited and immediately started putting eggs in her basket. After the hunt, we had a small picnic on the playground. I really enjoyed getting to know some of the other children and mothers in her class. I am very thankful that we were able to start her in school. She still isn't overly excited about it, but is getting better with drop off and has a good time while she is there. It's amazing to see how the separation anxiety has developed over the last few weeks as a result of starting school. She screams now when we take her to church nursery, and I have yet to be able to go to the bathroom by myself in a restaurant. This just goes to show you to be careful what you wish for. I've always said that Lily is very independent and not at all a Mamma's girl. Well, now I've got my Mamma's girl now. I'm trying to appreciate it while it lasts, but it would be nice to potty by myself every now and then. I know this is yet another phase and, this too, will pass. She will once again eagerly say "bye-bye Mommy" as I am leaving.

And yes, we were still playing with our eggs at bathtime.

Congratulations Karen and Pual

Congratulations Karen and Paul on your pregnancy. After many years of stuggling with infertility, our dear friends Karen and Pual from Iowa are expecting. I have had to keep quiet for a few weeks now, and I've been busting to yell CONGRATS!

I know you will be amazing parents. Lily Bean just adores you both, and still talks about Paul and Karen.

I'm going on record now saying that its going to be a girl.

First Annual Easter Egg Party

I am all about tradition, so I started a tradition this year with our "extended family" (the Cranes, Clums, Smiths, and O'Bradoviches) of dyeing Easter eggs. We got messy and had a great time doing it. The kids made some great eggs and had fun playing together for the afternoon.

Notice all of Lily's eggs are orange - that's my girl.

Abut half way through, someone mentioned that the dye didn't come out of clothes. That is why Lily is finishing up in the buff.

I wonder which is messier: dyeing eggs or mealtime.

The kids hunting for eggs in the backyard. They weren't racing to find them because I told them they were empty eggs. Who ever heard of empty eggs?

Cuteness

Lily cried her eyes out again when I dropped her off at school today, but her teachers said that she had a great time. When I picked her up, I told her we would go to Andolini's for lunch. She said, "pizza." As we pulled into the parking lot, she said, "we're here, Andini's house."

As were eating, she picked up one of her mushrooms and said, "alligator, chomp, chomp." Sure enough, I looked at her mushroom and it looked like an alligator.

Congratulations James

Congratulations James on completing your first triathlon. James and Allan decided a few months ago to train for a triathlon. They signed up for one on Parris Island (in Beaufort) and completed it this Saturday. Out of 500 entrants, they both finished in the top third. James has been very dedicated to training, but also has worked so hard to not let his training interfere with family time. He trains early in the morning, nap times, lunch breaks, and after Lily goes to bed. I am very proud him for this big accomplishment. GO DADDY!

I think he has the bug now. He informed me he is signing up for the James Island triathlon, which is on June 15th. Hmm, isn't my due date on June 16th?

Lily's first Easter egg hunt

Our neighbors, Mills and DuBose, invited us to their second annual Easter egg hunt this past Saturday. We crammed three car seats in James' car and headed over with the Clums. Lily had a blast and very quickly caught on to egg hunting. Thank you Mills and DuBose for including us. You are blessed with a wonderful group of friends.

Margaret Anne and I resting before the big hunt.

Margaret Anne found her favorite spot. Those are goldfish if you can't tell.

Lily enjoyed sliding with Daddy.

The Easter bunny even showed up. Lily liked him, but wouldn't get close without Daddy.

They had over 1500 eggs scattered throughout the field.

The coaches are giving last minute pointers.

Margaret Anne is off. I couldn't get a picture of Abigail. She led the pack out and was very serious about her egg hunting.

Here goes Lily.

Found one

You mean there's candy in these things!

YUM

More please.

Margaret Anne enjoyed swinging while...

Abigail took inventory.
