Happy Birthday Daddy

After a long week apart, the girls and I couldn’t wait for Daddy to get home to celebrate his birthday.  This anticipation was heightened by the fact that he was driving home in the snow from Charlotte.  Yes, you read that correctly – in the snow.  We’ll get to that later.

While waiting on Daddy, we baked him a birthday cake.  There was more icing eating going on than baking.DSC_0082 DSC_0083 DSC_0084 DSC_0085 DSC_0089 DSC_0098

Daddy made it home safely and made three girls very happy. DSC_0108 DSC_0111

Mother Nature gave James the best present of all – SNOW!   Lily couldn’t wait to get out in it.  Bedtimes go out the window when you live in Charleston and get snow once a decade.  She may not see this again until she is a teenager.  Notice her snow shoes – poor southern child.DSC_0116 DSC_0119 DSC_0122 DSC_0125 DSC_0126 DSC_0129DSC_0139 DSC_0140DSC_0136

This was a perfect evening.  We turned out the lights and watched the snow fall in front of the fire.  Something about snow is so peaceful and soothing.  I am thankful to our Lord for bringing James home safely and for the gift of snow.

Happy Birthday to my sweet husband.
