Friday - ATV Adventure and Wolf Sanctuary

The boys decided the day before to do a Can-Am side by side ATV ride.  They left early in the morning and drove two hours out on dirt trails and roads to a beautiful lake.  By the looks of their dusty, dirty selves when they got back, they had a great time!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the girls set up Eno land.  We took it easy for the morning and then set out for the Northern Lights Wolf Sanctuary.  Pretty cool that a place we really wanted to visit was a half mile from Leo's ranch!
I am not sure if I was just tired of taking pictures or just forgot but below is the only shot I got while we were there.  The sanctuary was great and we learned a lot about wolves and their nature.  We learned that they are a keystone animal meaning they are essential to the ecosystem.  This sanctuary had 10 wolves, 3 of which were pups.
Kiera, one of the interns on the ranch, found some water guns for the girls to play with.
We then went to check on the herd.  They were hanging out in their dirt pit in the afternoon sunshine.
We found a dinner spot in downtown Golden and filled our bellies full.  Once home, we asked the staff members to join us for ice cream.  Leo has four interns currently living and working on the ranch.  We really enjoyed getting to know them.  Keira is from Germany, Liz and Ryan are from England, a college student from Minnesota.  They were super sweet to the girls, letting them tag a long every now and then for odd jobs.  Keira even taught them a little German.  A dandelion is called a poostinbloomer!  How did I not get pictures of our ice cream party?  Leaving these folks tomorrow is going to be awfully hard...
