As he finished up, Jody, a Google photographer, showed up to take some 360 photos of Leo with the herd. Seriously, we get to participate and witness this too!!
This, by the way, is Leo's cabin. It is one room with a loft upstairs. The stove in the corner is how he heats his cabin and cooks!
When Loe claps, Chester Jr. comes!
The front of the house we stayed in. You can see Leo's cabin behind on the right.
The girls with Keira
The girls had collected a lot of rocks down by the river. We had to limit them to three each to take with us (don't tell border control). Keira had the great idea of lining the bed out front with the rocks!
With a five hour drive ahead of us, we had to stop and give the cars a bath inside and out. The drive was spectacular! More emerald lakes, rugged peaks, green forests and vast skies!
In Columbia Falls, we are staying in a townhouse near town. What the townhouse lacks for in views, it makes up for in modern amenities and pristine cleanliness. We are planning some long hikes and seeing great scenery in Glacier, so it is nice to have a comfortable place to come home to at night. We quickly unpacked and headed straight to the rodeo! Chris Collins, who graduated from the Citadel with James and Tripp, and his family were also in town. Chris' wife, McKenzie, grew up in Columbia Falls and her parents live about five minutes from where we are staying. We are so thankful we could plan our vacations at the same time and get to spend some time with Chris and his family.
The girls loved the rodeo and were begging to stay for the whole thing. Lily is begging even more to take lessons now. They had a hard time at first with the cattle roping competition, but then they just started pulling for the calves and felt better about it. They loved the female barrel racing. As we were leaving one of the racers was walking her horse across the parking lot. She was so sweet and let the girls pet her horse for a minutes while talking about riding.
