JIPC Picnic

Last night we celebrated our annual WNL summer picnic out on a beautiful farm on John’s Island.  Fun was had by all.  There was kayaking, hayrides, music, and lots of running and playing.  Once again, I must say how blessed I am to be a part of this amazing church family.

Blue Angels Part Two

It’s obviously been a while since I have looked at my pictures and I just realized that I forgot to post the Blue Angels performance over the Charleston Harbor.  The show was amazing.

On Saturday, Kami heard the planes while she was on the phone with me.  That was all it took to convince them to come down and watch with us the next day.

DSC_0002-1 DSC_0003-1Dude, is that cute or what?DSC_0010-2 DSC_0022-1 DSC_0024-1 DSC_0042 DSC_0049-1 DSC_0050 DSC_0051 DSC_0054 DSC_0058 DSC_0059-1 DSC_0062 DSC_0073Sarah Ellen must want to be a Smith.  She loves her some Cameron and Jason.

Hard at Work

Evidently Sarah Ellen and Olivia discovered that our cabinet door needed to be fixed.  No worries, they are taking good care of the job.  There’s nothing that a waffle iron plug can’t fix.

Hugs

Poor little Olivia desperately trying to get some “love love” from her friend.  This picture pretty much sums up the difference between a Clum hug and a Weatherholtz hug.

Happy Birthday Cameron

The baby in our group turned 30 yesterday and we surprised her with an adult night out.  What she thought would be a quiet dinner with her hubby turned into a loud and boisterous evening that lasted until 2 AM.  I discovered today what I already knew:  we are too old for this.  But I would not have traded this night for the world.  My cheeks still hurt from laughing so hard.  I am blessed to have each of these people in my life and I love you all dearly.  Happy Birthday sweet Cameron!DSC_0002-2DSC_0004-1 DSC_0005DSC_0007-1DSC_0001-2 DSC_0013-1 DSC_0014 DSC_0015 DSC_0017 DSC_0018DSC_0021DSC_0024Our waiter wasn’t exactly the best, so Jason took matters into his own hands.  DSC_0026Cameron’s surprise dessert that Allan so eloquently described as a “dumpling gone bad.”

And yes, that would be Allan sitting in a car seat.  I was perched in one next to him.  Caroline’s dad came to pick us up out at Folly at 2 in the morning.   I guess you never stop being a parent.

Blue Angels

We heard that the Blue Angels would be practicing on Thursday and Friday for the big shows this weekend, so we packed a picnic and joined daddy and friends at Waterfront Park for a preview. All I can say is WOW! The Blue Angels are truly amazing and as Caroline said, they make you want to stand up and sing the Star Spangled Banner. It has been fun the past few days watching them zoom all around. Saturday was the first big show and they flew directly over our house in formation. Truly breathtaking. I was outside by myself jumping up and down like a little kid. I can’t wait to see the whole show up close tomorrow.

DSC_0065 DSC_0023DSC_0030Parker really just wanted them to disappear however possible. DSC_0036 I was surprised with how well the girls handled the noise. Sarah Ellen wasn’t too thrilled with it, but did okay. I am even more surprised that she was able to nap at home with them buzzing over our house constantly. The windows were shaking, and I even ducked a few times. DSC_0044 DSC_0076DSC_0083DSC_0117

Kami and Richard are joining us tomorrow for the real show. Can’t wait.
