Ten random facts about myself...
1. I live in Charleston and don't like boats or seafood (much, much to my husband's dismay who loves both).
2. I've never had braces. Every new dentist I see is amazed that my teeth are so straight. This is despite that fact that I sucked my thumb for many years. Ha-ha Mom and Dad. My left thumb didn't fare as well. It is about 1 cm shorter than my right thumb. Seriously, ask me to show you next you see me.
3. I am now watching Days of Our Lives, something I've done since I was about six years old. Probably not one of the better habits that my mother passed on to me (and she did pass some good ones). I guess that makes me a true housewife. It makes me laugh that I can remember many of the characters being born and now they are much older than me with several children.
4. I prefer silence. I very easily get sensory overloaded with a lot of noise. I don't like loud places or the TV on in the background. I often have the radio off in the car, although now I get a lot of requests for "kids music." I'm not a huge music fan (also very much to my husband's dismay), but I do try to expose Lily to it often. She loves it, although sometimes she says, "not too loud." Maybe she does have some of her mom in her after all.
5. I am NOT a morning person. My family, old roommates, and husband can very much attest to this fact. I don't like to hear music, talk to anyone, or pretty much have anyone look at me. It's bad. Amazingly enough, the only person that this doesn't apply to is Lily. I truly enjoy our time together in the mornings, and she is definitely the only person that can make me smile in the morning.
6. I enjoy knitting, reading, and cooking. Does this make me a grandma? I'm not so much on the cooking as I used to be. It becomes a little more of a chore when you have someone tugging on your leg the whole time wanting to be held. I guess that is about to get worse with number two on the way. Thank goodness James doesn't mind eating out. If only our budget didn't mind as much.
7. It brings me to tears sometimes to see my husband and child together. The look of mutual adoration on their faces is indescribable. They are both amazing human beings, and I am so blessed to have them in my life.
8. My middle name is Elizabeth. I kept my middle name instead of changing it to my maiden name. My mother's middle name is Elizabeth and so is Lily's.
9. I am a very indecisive person. Its taken me three days to work on this one post trying to decide my ten facts. (That could be indecision or lack of creativity, which I suffer from both). I can spend 5 minutes in the grocery store aisle comparing products. That's not always easy with a toddler. I have a horrible time deciding what to order in a restaurant. And don't even get me thinking about naming this child. Lily was Sarah when she was born, and then we changed it to Lily the next morning.
10. I am quite enjoying watching my belly bounce all over the place right now. This girl gets very active at night. Let's hope she cuts that out once she is here. Her mama really likes her sleep. I am in complete awe that there is another human being inside of me right now. I cannot wait to meet her and see what she looks like.
I now tag Molly (you knew it was coming) and Karen.
