Pregnancy Update - 31 weeks

I just came from the doctor, and there has been NO CHANGE! It was such a relief to hear that. I had a lot of contractions on Sunday and Monday, so I was very relieved to know that they didn't cause any changes in my cervix. I did ask if I could sit up a little bit during the day and was immediately shot down. She is very right - I am only 31 weeks and there is no reason to take any chances. My uterus and cervix are very volatile and it is simply not worth the risk. She said let's make it to 35 weeks. So, that makes 4 more weeks, 26 days to be exact. Maybe I should start a Lilypie ticker for the count down.

I am actually settling in to bedrest now. My body has adapted, and isn't nearly as sore as it was. Lily has also come around and once again is treating me like Mommy. I think part of that is because of the change I made in myself. I was feeling so down and craving her attention last week. Then I decided to start acting like Mommy again - laying down the law and not letting her get away with things. I think she began to respect this and was like, "oh you're back." It is amazing how much children respect, and I think crave, boundaries. She is an amazing little girl, and has always been so adaptable (yet another thing she gets from her Daddy).

A few nights ago, we were reading books on the couch before bedtime and talking about the baby in Mommy's belly. Lily put her hand on my stomach and said, "take it out." I imagine in a few months, she'll be saying, "put it back." I can't wait to see Lily take on the role as big sister. I know she is going to be a great one.

So glad to hear things went well at the appointment! I was thinking of you.

I forgot all about how sore I was that first week of bedrest. Good to hear you are past that stage now!

One week down!!!
