Recording Life

Lately I feel as if I have been spending more time recording life than actually living life.  I take pictures and video, then download them, then edit them, then blog them, then put them on Kodak, then order them, then put them in photo albums, then back them up on discs.  Good grief.  I'm starting to burn out.  I believe this is mostly due to my latest project of organizing all of our digital video into movies and burning DVD's.  Our computer has been moving slower than Christmas (although I don't think Christmas moves as slow anymore), so I decided to make hard copies of all our digital video and erase it off the computer.  This has proven to be a very time consuming and often very frustrating endeavor, but I know it will be well worth it in the end.  James and I have already enjoyed seeing random clips here and there.

Another motivator for this project is a new little gadget we recently purchased called the Flip Mino.  It is a video recorder about the size of an ipod that holds 60 minutes of video.  Once recorded, you snap it into the computer and it instantly downloads your video.  I'm hoping this will encourage us to take more video.  My plan is to start consistently making DVD's of our home video and keeping it organized.  Hopefully, once I get a system in place, I can start back to living life and not just recording it!

Stay tuned for more Weatherholtz videos heading to a computer near you!
