As I mentioned in an earlier post, we barely made to Lily’s school Easter egg hunt. But we did make it, and I’m glad my girl was able to enjoy herself some in the midst of a very rough week.
Sarah Ellen quickly realized that these eggs had things in them.

On the hunt.
Porter showing off his loot.
After the hunt, we settled down for a picnic lunch with friends.
The kindergarten class had hatched baby chickens as a project and brought them out for all to see. Abigail brought over a cute little chick for us to see. This chick got a taste of freedom and decided to run for it.
Notice Caroline behind the bushes trying to rescue little chicky.
This picture breaks my heart as I notice Lily holding her left ear. This is the first time she mentioned her ear hurting. A few short hours later, her ear drum ruptured.
Finally a little boy in Abigail’s class came over and caught the little chick. Whew, that was close.
