We made it. After much planning, preparation, and packing, we are here: PAWLEY’S. Four adults, two three year olds, and two one year olds. Vacation here we come.
We made it safely yesterday, unpacked our entire houses, rearranged several bedrooms and finally got settled. Our biggest debate for the week involved sleeping arrangements. Should we put the big kids together, siblings together, babies in our rooms? We finally settled on big kids in one room and babies in one room. Needless to say, last night was rough. Lily talked nonstop to Thomas until 11:00. This was after going to bed late the night before and no nap. I must say, though, she was surprisingly well behaved today despite her lack of sleep. Tonight went a little better. We threatened to take Lovey if she got out of bed and didn’t stop talking. It seems to be working. Thomas has long been out and she hasn’t made a peep although she is still awake (9:43). Good thing we didn’t have to take Lovey – all of Pawley’s might be awake.
The babies are doing a little better. Sarah Ellen wakes before Parker, but he seems okay with it for the most part. Our girls just don’t want to let those boys sleep.
On another note, you can’t possibly expect to go on vacation with four children and have no one get sick. Yesterday Thomas and Lily both began sneezing. By this morning, Lily was getting a nebulizer treatment and Thomas and Parker’s noses were running. I guess Sarah Ellen is next. Despite sleep deprivation and little colds, the kids are having a blast and getting along great together.
The only thing better than vacation, is vacation with good friends.
Oh yes, I believe I forgot a post somewhere along the way: Sarah Ellen is walking!
Lily’s hair loves the beach. Check out those curls.
