Happy Birthday Cameron

The baby in our group turned 30 yesterday and we surprised her with an adult night out.  What she thought would be a quiet dinner with her hubby turned into a loud and boisterous evening that lasted until 2 AM.  I discovered today what I already knew:  we are too old for this.  But I would not have traded this night for the world.  My cheeks still hurt from laughing so hard.  I am blessed to have each of these people in my life and I love you all dearly.  Happy Birthday sweet Cameron!DSC_0002-2DSC_0004-1 DSC_0005DSC_0007-1DSC_0001-2 DSC_0013-1 DSC_0014 DSC_0015 DSC_0017 DSC_0018DSC_0021DSC_0024Our waiter wasn’t exactly the best, so Jason took matters into his own hands.  DSC_0026Cameron’s surprise dessert that Allan so eloquently described as a “dumpling gone bad.”

And yes, that would be Allan sitting in a car seat.  I was perched in one next to him.  Caroline’s dad came to pick us up out at Folly at 2 in the morning.   I guess you never stop being a parent.

Blue Angels

We heard that the Blue Angels would be practicing on Thursday and Friday for the big shows this weekend, so we packed a picnic and joined daddy and friends at Waterfront Park for a preview. All I can say is WOW! The Blue Angels are truly amazing and as Caroline said, they make you want to stand up and sing the Star Spangled Banner. It has been fun the past few days watching them zoom all around. Saturday was the first big show and they flew directly over our house in formation. Truly breathtaking. I was outside by myself jumping up and down like a little kid. I can’t wait to see the whole show up close tomorrow.

DSC_0065 DSC_0023DSC_0030Parker really just wanted them to disappear however possible. DSC_0036 I was surprised with how well the girls handled the noise. Sarah Ellen wasn’t too thrilled with it, but did okay. I am even more surprised that she was able to nap at home with them buzzing over our house constantly. The windows were shaking, and I even ducked a few times. DSC_0044 DSC_0076DSC_0083DSC_0117

Kami and Richard are joining us tomorrow for the real show. Can’t wait.

Easter Party 2010

We hosted our third annual Easter party the Saturday before Easter. I love traditions and this is one that is here to stay. Check out our first annual Easter party and second annual Easter party to see how these kiddos have grown. Sorry for the crazy amount of pictures, but it was a very fun morning.

I first attempted to read the children a book about the true meaning of Easter. I think it was pretty hard for the kiddos to pay attention with all those Easter eggs staring back at them from the grass. DSC_0781DSC_0782

Then off to the huntDSC_0785 DSC_0787 DSC_0788 DSC_0790 DSC_0793 DSC_0794 DSC_0795 DSC_0796 DSC_0797 DSC_0798 DSC_0802 DSC_0804 DSC_0807 DSC_0809 DSC_0810 DSC_0811 DSC_0812 DSC_0813 DSC_0815“Hey, it sounds like there is something in here. The ones we have been finding all week in the house didn’t have anything in them.” DSC_0816“Whoa, that looks like candy in there.” DSC_0817“Hey, that is candy in there.” DSC_0818“HOW COME NOBODY TOLD ME THIS BEFORE.” DSC_0820 “I think I’ll try a little bit.”DSC_0822 DSC_0824 “Hey Olivia, did you know there is candy in these eggs.”DSC_0825”Of course I did. You do know who my parents are, right?DSC_0827

Back to the driveway to check out our loot!DSC_0829 DSC_0831 DSC_0832 DSC_0833 DSC_0835 DSC_0836 DSC_0837 DSC_0839Evidently Olivia did know what was in the eggs and didn’t quite understand the concept of no more.

Next came the Easter egg dyeing.DSC_0843DSC_0848DSC_0851 DSC_0855DSC_0863DSC_0868DSC_0874DSC_0884DSC_0888 DSC_0898 DSC_0900 DSC_0904

We also released the butterflies that Doncie and Poppy gave Lily for her birthday. We watched them grow from caterpillars. The children loved setting them free.DSC_0911DSC_0923DSC_0928 DSC_0929 DSC_0934

We spent the rest of the morning playing, biking, picture taking, tree climbing, and cupcake eating.DSC_0905DSC_0908DSC_0743DSC_0752 DSC_0754 DSC_0763DSC_0883DSC_0938Mr. Jason definitely needs a little girl. DSC_0950 I think Mrs. Alison does too. DSC_0958 DSC_0983DSC_0981
