Biking, Hiking, and Swimming

I have been fighting off a cold, so James headed out for some adventure while I rested.  He went mountain biking and by the looks of his muddy and bloody legs when he got back, he had a great time.
The Cache Creek trailhead is at the southeast corner of Jackson.  I saw a young mule deer swim across this creek moments earlier.  Awesome.
I rode the Cache Creek sidewalk, Putt-Putt, and Hagen trails.  The scenery was spectacular, and the best part of the ride was in the forest.
Cache Creek runs down through town and feeds into Flat Creek.
When James made it back we drove into Teton National Park.  We had planned to hike up to Phelps Lake (thanks, Pam) and let the girls play and swim, but I wasn't sure I was up for the distance and the girls were already grumbling about a hike.  We drove out to the String Lake Trailhead instead.  This is an area where you can park right at the river and lakes and hike around them.  It was cold!  The girls were determined, though, that they were getting in the water.
The area around these logs was crammed with minnows.
Lily was fearless about getting down into the water among all those fallen logs and boulders.
Hard to see, but we also saw some larger fish swimming around the edge of logs.
Checkout James' ninja warrior move - he made it all the way across without getting wet!
That is a mountain lake.  The water comes straight down from those snow-capped mountains.  Crazy, crazy girls!!
We toured some more of the park by car and checked off some of the things on the girls' Junior Ranger lists.  We ate at Dornans (thanks again, Pammy).  The food was yummy and the view was awesome.  We had spotted an ice cream shop outside the restaurant but when we got there, they were closed.  Well that just wasn't going to work.  We drove into Jackson and got handmade ice cream at Moos.  I ordered a scoop of Oreo and after taking a bite, I asked him to put another scoop on.  That was some of the best Oreo I have ever had.

We walked into the square and noticed people were standing on the corner waiting for something.  We had no idea what was about to happen but we decided to wait too.  Turns out we had front row seats (in the middle of the street) for an Old West shoot out.  Good thing that ice cream stand was closed after all.
When we got back home, the girls were begging to take a bath in the fancy bathtub.  This thing really is fancy - bubbles, jets, and colored lights!  They laughed and played for a solid hour.

So far we are loving Jackson Hole.
