To the Tetons

On the way out of Salt Lake City, we took a detour to Antelope Island State Park.  Antelope Island is the largest island in Great Salt Lake.  It is home to free-roaming herds of bison, bighorn sheep, mule deer, and pronghorn antelope.  While driving we saw bison and antelope.  We stopped to put our "feets" in the water.  We just can't say it was too great.  The water in this area was a bit stagnant and smelly and there were a gazillion little black bugs right along the shoreline.  After watching James' foot sink in the muck, I decided I would be okay not touching the Great Salt Lake.
That tiny speck off in the distance is a bison.
We saw antelope right past the grass line (take our word for it).
Can you see the black along the shoreline that looks like darker sand?  That is tons of bugs.
Back on the road through more of beautiful Utah.
Welcome to Idaho.
James has done about 95% of the driving this entire trip.  I try to help every now and then but the brake on the passenger side just doesn't seem to work.
These green fields were a sight for sore eyes.

The Snake River
We are staying in a townhouse in Teton Village.  We saw more snow-capped mountains as we came in.
Alleluia.  This could be the most glorious sight I have seen all day.  We haven't had a washer and dryer that we didn't have to put quarters in since we left Florida.
We are about to put this baby to the test.

We ate at a great little restaurant called Calico Pizza.  They had a huge lawn where the kids could run and play.  James and I sat up on the deck while the girls played - perfect.
We saw a Daisy twin and it made us miss our girl.
There was a garden out back.
I kind of knew that the Jackson area was upscale but I am not kidding - we saw not one ugly person in the whole restaurant.  Everyone was perfectly groomed (except maybe my husband) and sporting Vineyard Vines, Ralph Lauren, and Johnnie-O.  This ain't no Six Flags, y'all!
