She Did It!!!!

We had planned to sleep in, but Lily woke up at six thinking about the elevator.  Since she was partly open to it, we grabbed clothes and rushed out.  PBTG - she did it!  It took some coaxing, but my girl did it!
Little sister was pretty excited for her!
So what does a family do that is half-dressed with crazy hair at 6:30 AM in the Bellagio?  Go eat a $100 breakfast, of course!  After that we toured the lobby, walked the strip, and hit the candy shop.  It's 5:00 somewhere, right?
All the displays in the lobby are made with fresh flowers.
A hill escalator - what the heck in the world?
 The Bellagio from the street.
Walking through the casino.  People literally gamble 24/7!

We made it back to the room and it was only 10:00AM.  We vegged out on electronics for a bit and I fell back to sleep.

For lunch, we walked next door to the Contemporary and ate at Holsteins.
As we walked into the restaurant, Lily says, "oh heavens, look at the pickle."

After that it was time to hit the pool.  That really is the only place you can be when it is 106 outside.

We showered up and walked down to the Venetian.  On the way, we watched the Bellagio fountain show - pretty awesome.  The girls liked seeing the street performers and characters.  Lily really wanted to get her picture taken with the "bunny."  I am afraid we are giving our children more of an education than just history and geography!

We ate at an Italian restaurant in the Venetian.  We had three huge meals today, and I think we are all ready for a fast.  At lunch, Sarah Ellen didn't even want the ice cream sundae that came with her meal.

James and I have always laughed at the fact that Sarah Ellen likes to snuggle up on you when eating at restaurants.  This usually happens to be James, and I tell him to just enjoy the snuggles while she gives them.  Tonight it was me.

We decided to walk back to the Bellagio to see some more street performers.  We sort of forgot that it was July 4th in Vegas!  The streets were crazy crowded.  People were lined up everywhere to watch the fireworks.  We pushed and trudged, and finally made it back.  We never saw the first firework, but the four of us didn't care.  We were in a quiet, cool, and uncrowded hotel room!

One more note:  we took many elevator rides today!!!

sounds like you hit a lot of good spots in Vegas. pics of the canyon were great. I can watch the bellagio fountains for hours ( especially at night). We were there once when it was hot also but also had sand storms (yuk).
As I see those hotels/casinos; I often say; "you know where they get the money for these places".
I got a new modem and spent most of the day dealinig with internet providers but thinik I finally am reconnected. Also had to send a letter to IRS (headache)
Yall enjoy. Larry
