Nothing

Today we did NOTHING!  We stayed at Hidden Canyon Ranch and did NOTHING.  No plans, no tours, no hikes, no sights to see – nothing.  James and I read books, I did nails, James worked out, the girls played (way too much) iPad.  It was glorious.

We had dinner at the ranch tonight.  They cook for the guests but you must give them two weeks advance notice.  They only go into “town” every two weeks to get supplies.  It was nice eating with the other guests as well.   One of the things we have enjoyed about this trip is meeting new people and hearing their stories.

We met a sweet couple, Steve and Judy, from Kansas City.  Turns out Steve quit his job as a stock broker twenty years ago and became a professional poker player!  They had four granddaughters and their faces lit up when they talked about them.

We met a young family from Salt Lake City.  They thought it was so cute that the girls said "y'all".  The dad took a picture of the girls with their boys and said, "smile boys, you are getting your picture taken with real southern girls."

We met a great couple from Sandy, Utah which is just south of Salt Lake City.  They have six grown children, five girls and one boy.  We enjoyed listening to their experiences raising children.  They gave us a lot of ideas of things to do while in Salt Lake City.

We weren’t sure about Hidden Canyon Ranch when we first arrived, but have really enjoyed our stay here.  Our lazy day today was what we all needed.
Turkeys just running around.
Three little mouths waiting on their mama.
SE holding "Tiger", named for his ferociousness.
