No way were getting anyone on a hiking trail today! SE has been dying to play putt-putt and go see the new movie Thor: Love and Thunder at Reels, a theater in town that serves pizza.
We started the day at This Way Cafe for breakfast and it was fantastic! We then drove to the Precipice trailhead in the park for a glimpse of the nesting peregrine falcons. Rangers set up spotting scopes in the morning for all to come look. We saw one of the fledglings (full grown) fly high over the mountain.
Next, we drove down to Thunder Hole again to see if the tides were right to make thunder. The tide was too high, but it was magnificent watching the waves crash in on the rocks. Thunder Hole is mesmerizing to watch.
SE just wanted to go play putt putt!
Next, we hit Pirate's Cove for putt putt. As soon as I saw Lily grip her club, I realized we have never taken them to play putt putt before. How have I failed my children in this way??? Lily held her club like she was about to churn butter. She picked it up quick though. James won!

We drove back into town and grabbed pastries at The Pink Pastry Shop. We strolled the shops and grabbed a few more souvenirs.
Next up was the movie. I had heard and read great things about the movie experience at Reels. I ordered our tickets the night before and reserved "couch 5." What the heck? We found our couch and then went back to the lobby to order our pizza. Our pizza came right as the movie started, which was perfect... except, we couldn't see anything. I am still not sure about this whole experience. The pizza was great, but very difficult to eat from a TV tray on a couch in the dark. If we ever did this again, I would opt for the individual seats that had countertops in front of them. The movie was fantastic! My first Marvel movie actually seen in a theater and might just be one of my favorites. Marvel always shows small clips during the credits with foreshadowing for future movies. This was the best part for me. The whole theater screamed with excitement at the first clip. I won't say anything more because the surprise was the best part.
When we made it back to our house, we walked down to the shore in hopes of spotting a seal. We didn't see a seal, but saw one of the most magnificent sunsets ever. Pictures will certainly not do it justice.

This is part of the working oyster farm down by the water. I have been a bit disappointed in the description of our VRBO matching up with reality. After the sunset tonight, I no longer care. Thank you, God, for sending me this message this evening.
No, I am not cold. I am protecting myself from the velociraptor-sized mosquitos.
