Enormous - that is the adjective for Zion. Everything about it is enormous: the peaks, the cliffs, the hikes, the beauty, the heat. All enormous!
Because Zion is so large and gets so many visitors, you must take the park shuttles. Our first stop was Weeping Rock for the ranger talk. The girls learned how animals keep themselves cool. About this time I was wishing I had large ears like a jackrabbit or a shell like a tortoise. It was HOT!
The two things we wanted to do at this park were to walk The Narrows and take the hike to the Emerald Pools. Once we found out we were not allowed to swim in the pools, we took this three-mile hike off the list. The Narrows did not disappoint. We walked a mile on a path next to the river, then walked the river for a bit.
Squirrels were everywhere!

James got a kick out of the gadget family!
We snapped a picture of the tortoise just for Mrs. Cameron.
After the girls got their badges, we called it a day for the National Parks. It was midday but we were hot and tired. We hit the Flying Monkey for dinner again. While eating SE's tooth loosened even more and began bleeding. Can you just imagine the drama? It was barely hanging on but she was scared it was going hurt. James asked to look at it, and she said, "that is not going to happen." Eventually she pulled it and we all felt the relief!
