Waiting on the shuttle |
We had a big day planned today: Six Flags, which includes the amusement park and the water park. Our resort provided shuttle service to the park. The girls always think it is such a treat to ride on shuttles with no seat belts. We thought it was nice to be dropped off and picked up! We arrived at the park 15 minutes before opening - rookie mistake. We waited in the hot sun to get in at 10, then waited even longer to get back to the rides. They open the gates at 10, but rope off the section to the rides until 10:30. "What the heck in the world" is that about?
The first thing we hit was the bumper cars. Lily and James rode in one car while Sarah Ellen and I rode in another. As we were strapping in, Lily begged us not to hit them hard. Next thing you know, she is yelling, "hit them daddy" and laughing her head off!
Next to the Kiddie Coaster.

Mommy and Lily are not! |
My husband is one of those crazy people. He left us to ride the Superman roller coaster. He said it was awesome except for the part about his cell phone falling out of his pocket...
After a way too expensive (and not that great) lunch, we got ready for the iPOP concert. This may be the highlight of the trip for me so far. The girls LOVED it. The group performed all of their favorite songs: Uptown Funk, Shake it Off, All About That Base, Jealous, Lips are Moving, Starships, This is My Life and others. Lily sang the words to them all and Buggy, well she got her groove on. I love that she dances her little heart out.
Afterwards we were able to go up and meet the performers. One of them pointed to Sarah Ellen and said, "I saw you dancing out there!"
Time for the water park. Just in time too, because it was getting hot. They first did the tall water slide. Lily and Daddy did it first and after Sarah Ellen saw that they survived, she decided to give it a try too. They all loved it.

After that we did a few loops in the lazy river (which isn't so lazy when crowded with tons of people) and then the wave pool. Lily and James rode on a large slide with inner tubes while Buggy and I went off to the kiddie area. They had such an amazing kid area that we spent the rest of our time there.
We finished off the park with lemon slushies and called it a day.
After much needed showers, we ate sandwiches back in the room and played Ticket to Ride for the first time. This game definitely has a learning curve, but I see it being a family favorite for us!
