Wow - another great day! The fun and relaxation just doesn't stop. This morning we headed out for a bit in search of some souvenirs and spray sun screen. I have half way given up on my organic sunscreen. It is great for the initial application but I just can't be rubbing in thick sunscreen on sandy kids. Back to the spray for a bit!
The girls wanted to spend some of their money on souvenirs so we found to a touristy shop down the beach in Miramar. They each bought a turtle necklace. Lily insisted she had to buy one for MA. She also was in search of the perfect thing for Porter but couldn't find it. I assured her we would have plenty more stops to look for something for Mr. P.
You just never know what you may find in a tourist shop near Destin - we were able to give a few lessons on inappropriateness.
Lily: "Mama, why does that say size doesn't matter."
Me: "I don't know baby, oh look at the hermit crab..."
We went to the YOLO board shop which was pretty cool to see where our paddle board came from.
Everyone was getting a little fussy and hungry so we made our way back home. We are staying in a unit that consists of four townhomes. We are on the far right.
We lathered up and headed out to the beach for the afternoon. The girls were a little hesitant but they both made it back in the water. Whew, Mr. Jellyfish didn't set us back!!
We were given sandcastle lessons by Mr. Mark with Sand Odyssey This was a wonderful experience. We learned all kinds of tricks and our castle was the hit of the beach. Many strangers walked up and asked if they could take pictures of their family in front of our castle.
The kids played again with our neighbors, Jack (7) and Lucy (4). We ordered dinner and the kids ate together while we ate with their parents, Stephen and Katie. We chatted and let the kids play. Just as it was bedtime, the other neighbors came home and headed down to the beach with their lighted bow and arrow set. Next thing you know, six kids are on the beach shooting arrows for thirty minutes. Such fun!
The delayed bedtime may make for fussy kiddos tomorrow, but the fun and memories made tonight were more than worth it. Both girls came up from the beach and said, "that was awesome."

Awww! So sweet of her to think of Porter! He asked me yesterday if we could make y'all a welcome home cookie cake when y'all come home :) Sandcastle lessons and a lighted bow and arrow set-what fun ideas! (I deleted my first comment so I could edit it. It wouldn't let me put a smiley face) :)
