Perfection

Perfection.  That is what Santa Rosa Beach is - pure PERFECTION!  We leisurely woke up to a magnificent view right out our window.  Since we had not been to the store yet, what is a family to do but go out for breakfast, right?  The Perfect Pig again. And again, it was perfect.

I dropped James off and headed out to the grocery store.  I thought maybe it would be a little less crowded this morning, but I thought wrong.   I didn't really care though, because I am on vacation.

I got home to find James and the girls busy catching fish.  Sarah Ellen was so proud that she had caught several fishes all by herself.  She was a serious fish hunter - bobbing up and down with her mask and net.

Back to the beach for the afternoon.  I had been in awe of Lily all day - showing NO fear of the water, waves, fish - nothing.  She and James swam out 75 yards (way past everyone else in the water) and all the way back.  No fear, that is, until I see James carrying her out of the water and SE chasing close behind.  Darn jellyfish.  Really, of all the kids you gotta sting!  Lily was terrified - shivering and screaming.  SE was just as terrified.  I told Lily that we would rub some sand on it to get out the stingers.  SE screamed, "she has stingers in her????"  Needless to say, we were drawing quite the looks up and down the beach.  The jellyfish stung her leg and as she tried to pull it off, the tentacles stung her fingers.  To her credit, James caught one of the tentacles helping her and said it stung pretty good.

So that was the end of our beaching it for the day.  I just hope it won't be the end of our beaching it for the week!

We grilled out tonight and ate a yummy dinner of grilled chicken, roasted potatoes, asparagus and corn on the cob.  We hung out on the deck chatting with the family next door watching the sunset.  Perfection.
As Sarah Ellen said, "everyone needs ice cream on a hot hot day."
Stupid jellyfish

Favorite quote of the day:  from Sarah Ellen as we are swimming in the gulf - "I have to go to the bathroom and I am going right now."

Looks so gorgeous! Wish I could transport myself right now! Sorry about Lily's encounter with the jellyfish, but hopefully that's a one and done!
